This painting was done for my best friend (the women in the painting). She loves dragons and blue...so there ya go...

I've been working on this for some time now...started in April but didnt get around to finishing it until now.

Used a ref for her face and thats about it.
Painted in Photoshop 7 with my 4x5 wacom.

There is some meaning to this painting, but as usual i'll just let the viewer come up with their own.

Very nice! The dragon is done very well. Personally- I'd take out the design elements (black border, text, etc.)- this illustrations stands up very well on it's own.

The border works for me, except for the two large snowflakes--those look rather out of place. I think I might like the border even more if it was solid black instead of the gradient, but that could very well be personal taste. Overall, good work!
